Senior Capstone

This work explores a moment of release, an act of letting go of inhibitions to realize there is more to be found if one relaxes into the rhythms of the world around them. Releasing control and embracing the unpredictable is important in my art practice. Rather than storyboarding the exact arc of this animation, I responded to each frame as organically as possible. Releasing control is also pertinent to my own mental health and habit of perceiving the world as constrained and ordered. Release has been, for me, a medium through which to improve my life and feel more at ease.

The work was installed at the Flaten Art Museum at St. Olaf College as a part of the 2019 Senior Art Exhibition from May 3rd - May 26th, 2019. The installation included a latex wall painting as part of the artwork.
